Tantalum Rods consist mainly of ≥99.9% pure tantalum with minor elements such as Oxygen (≤0.01%), Nitrogen (≤0.01%), Hydrogen (≤0.001%), Carbon (≤0.01%), and Niobium (≤0.1%). These rods possess superior mechanical properties with tensile strength of 200–750 MPa and elongation up to 30%. Tantalum possesses a very high melting point of around 3017°C and a density of 16.65 g/cm³. It also possesses very good thermal and electrical conductivity and is very resistant to acid corrosion, especially hydrochloric and sulfuric acid, and is thus well suited for application in aggressive chemical and high-temperature conditions.
