Mu Metal Sheets and Plates are generally composed of Nickel (77%–80%), Iron (15%–17%), Copper (4%–5%), and Molybdenum (2%–4%). Such a special composition gives high magnetic permeability and very low coercive force, making it highly suitable for low-frequency magnetic field shielding. Mu Metal has tensile strength around 450 MPa, yield strength around 300 MPa, and elongation of 30%–40%. The density is around 8.7 g/cm³, with a melting point of around 1450°C. Once annealed, Mu Metal reacquires its magnetic properties, which makes it extremely useful for creating enclosures and parts for sensitive electronic devices.
