Nitinol Sheets and Plates contain mainly nickel (about 55–56%) and titanium (44–45%). This novel near-equiatomic alloy is shape memory and superelastic in nature. Mechanically, Nitinol is tensile up to 1000 MPa and elongation at break about 10–15%. Its shape memory temperature is between -20°C and 110°C, depending on processing. Physically, it has a density of 6.45 g/cm³ and excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in biological environments. All these features render Nitinol a highly adaptable material ideal for use in both mechanical toughness and thermal sensitivity demands.
