Permalloy Foil is usually about 80% Nickel and 20% Iron, but different grades may have variations (e.g., Ni 45–81%, Fe balance). Trace elements such as Mo ≤ 5%, Mn ≤ 1%, and Si ≤ 0.3% may also be present. Permalloy provides high magnetic permeability, low coercivity, and saturation induction ~0.8 T. In terms of mechanical properties, it has a tensile strength of 400–700 MPa and elongation up to 30%. Physically, it has a density of ~8.7 g/cm³, a Curie temperature of about 450°C, and good formability, which makes it suitable for magnetic shielding and precision parts.
