Invar 36 Bar consists mainly of Nickel (35–37%) and Iron (balance), with small amounts of Manganese (≤0.60%), Carbon (≤0.05%), Silicon (≤0.40%), and Cobalt (≤0.50%). It has a tensile strength of 490–620 MPa, yield strength of 275 MPa, and elongation of approximately 30%. Its physical characteristics are a very low coefficient of thermal expansion (1.2 x 10⁻⁶/°C), a density of 8.1 g/cm³, and a melting point of around 1430°C. These properties make it particularly well-suited to environments where dimensional accuracy is needed under changing thermal conditions.
