Nickel-based alloy Haynes 230 Bars are made up of Nickel 57–63%, Chromium 20–24%, Tungsten 13–15%, Iron up to a maximum of 3%, Molybdenum 1–3%, Manganese up to a maximum of 1%, and Carbon 0.05–0.15%. These bars show excellent mechanical properties such as tensile strength of 785 MPa, yield strength of 365 MPa, and elongation of 30%. The physical properties are a density of 8.95 g/cm³, a melting range of 1325–1380°C, and excellent resistance to oxidation, nitridation, and carburization and hence suitable for long-term exposure at high temperatures.
