Sheets and Plates of Invar 36 consist predominantly of Iron (63.5%) and Nickel (36%), along with small traces of Manganese (≤0.5%), Silicon (≤0.3%), Carbon (≤0.05%), and Chromium (≤0.25%). This alloy possesses low thermal expansion and excellent toughness. Mechanically, it possesses a tensile strength of approximately 490 MPa and yield strength of 240 MPa, with elongation ≥35%. Physical properties consist of a density of 8.1 g/cm³ and a very low coefficient of thermal expansion (about 1.2 × 10⁻⁶ /°C in the temperature range 20–100°C), making it well suited for precision applications.
