Nickel Alloy 200 Wire is made up of Nickel (99.0% min), Iron (0.4%), Manganese (0.35%), Silicon (0.35%), Copper (0.25%), Carbon (0.15% max), and Sulfur (0.01%). This alloy provides better resistance to caustic alkalis and other reducing agents. Mechanically, the wire provides tensile strength of 462 MPa, yield strength of 148 MPa, and elongation of 45%. It possesses a density of 8.89 g/cm³ and melting point of 1435–1446°C. Nickel 200 also possesses excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, non-magnetic characteristics, and good ductility, making it suitable for forming and welding purposes.
