The addition of tungsten improves mechanical properties, providing tensile strength of approximately 450–750 MPa and elongation to 20–30%. Having a melting point of ~3017°C, density of 16.6 g/cm³, and thermal conductivity of approximately 57 W/m·K, R05252 bars are suitable for high-temperature and highly corrosive service conditions, particularly where further strength is needed over pure tantalum.
