Tantalum Sheets and Plates are generally made of 99.9% pure tantalum with very small amounts of elements such as oxygen (<0.02%), nitrogen (<0.01%), hydrogen (<0.001%), carbon (<0.01%), and iron (<0.01%). Tantalum possesses a high melting point of 3017°C, density of 16.6 g/cm³, and very good thermal conductivity (~57 W/m·K). It shows remarkable mechanical properties with tensile strength of about 200–750 MPa and elongation up to 30%, depending on processing. Its resistance to corrosion, particularly to acids such as HCl and H2SO4, makes it a good choice for application in very aggressive conditions and high-temperature conditions.
