Hastelloy X Wire consists mostly of Nickel 47.0% min., Chromium 20.5 – 23.0%, Iron 17.0% – 20.0%, Molybdenum 8.0 – 10.0%. However, Cobalt 1.0%–2.5% and Tungsten is present in 0.2%–1.0% trace amounts. The alloy’s tensile strength is around 690 MPa, yield around 275 MPa, while elongation at break is 30%. On the physical scale, the material has a density of 8.22 g/cm³ while the melting point is between 1260 to 1355°C. The alloy is non-magnetic and has excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization at high temperatures, making it well-suited for high-stress applications.
