AWS Class ENi-1 Coated Electrodes consist mainly of Nickel (Ni) content of 92.0% minimum, and trace amounts of Iron (Fe) ≤2.5%, Manganese (Mn) ≤1.0%, and Carbon (C) ≤0.15%. Welds formed by these electrodes exhibit outstanding mechanical strength—average tensile strength is approximately 415 MPa, with yield strength approximately 170 MPa, and elongation 30–35%. They also present good electrical and thermal conductivity, with a melting point of about 1455°C and a density of approximately 8.9 g/cm³. ENi-1 electrodes exhibit smooth arc behavior, reduced spatter, and superior resistance against corrosion in alkaline and acidic environments.
