Duplex Steel Tubing typically consists of around 22–25% Chromium, 4.5–6.5% Nickel, 3–5% Molybdenum, with the remaining portion being Iron. Trace amounts are Nitrogen (0.1–0.25%), Manganese (≤2%), and Carbon (≤0.03%). The composition improves stress corrosion cracking and pitting resistance. Mechanically, duplex tubing provides high tensile strength of 620–850 MPa and yield strength of 450–550 MPa with elongation approximately 25%. It has a density of around 7.8 g/cm³ and melting range of 1350–1450°C. Duplex steel is also weldable, conducts heat, and possesses high fatigue strength and can withstand severe environments.
