Monel Washers consist mainly of Nickel (63% min) and Copper (28–34%), with small additions of Iron (2.5%), Manganese (2%), Silicon (0.5%), and Carbon (0.3%). This alloy provides superior corrosion resistance in seawater and acidic conditions. Monel shows a tensile strength of about 550 MPa, yield strength of about 240 MPa, and elongation of over 35%, providing high mechanical reliability. The density of the alloy is 8.8 g/cm³ and its melting point ranges from 1300°C to 1350°C. Monel washers are thus robust, heat-resistant, and very durable in hostile industrial environments.
