Duplex Steel S32205 Wire consists of about 22% Chromium, 5–6.5% Nickel, 3–3.5% Molybdenum, 0.14–0.2% Nitrogen, with additions of Manganese (≤2%), Silicon (≤1%), and Carbon (≤0.03%). This alloy offers great mechanical properties such as a yield strength of about 450 MPa and tensile strength ranging from 620–880 MPa. Density is 7.8 g/cm³ and the melting point is approximately 1350°C. The dual-phase microstructure (ferritic-austenitic) gives better pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking resistance and makes this wire perfectly suitable to be used in severe chemical and chloride environments.
