Titanium Coils, commonly made in Grade 2 (commercially pure) or Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V), possess very high strength-to-weight ratios and corrosion resistance. Grade 2 consists of 99.2% Titanium, O ≤ 0.25%, Fe ≤ 0.3%, whereas Grade 5 consists of 90% Titanium, 6% Aluminum, and 4% Vanadium. Grade 2 shows tensile strength of ~345 MPa, whereas Grade 5 attains ~895 MPa. Elongation is 10–20%, and density is ~4.43–4.51 g/cm³. Titanium coils also have a melting point of ~1660°C, good formability, and strong resistance to corrosion from saltwater and chemicals.
