Permalloy Round Bars consist predominantly of Nickel (80%) and Iron (20%), with minute amounts of Molybdenum or Copper depending on the grade. The composition provides it with excellent magnetic properties, such as high magnetic permeability and low core loss. Mechanically, Permalloy possesses tensile strength of about 500 MPa and good ductility with elongation of about 30%. It possesses a density of about 8.7 g/cm³ and a Curie temperature of about 570°C. These characteristics render Permalloy suitable for use in applications involving effective magnetic shielding, low energy loss, and stable operation under magnetic cycling.
