Zirconium Bars usually consist of Zr 95–98%, Hf <4.5%, Fe <0.2%, Cr <0.1%, O <0.16%, N <0.025%, C <0.05%. This composition provides outstanding corrosion resistance, particularly against acids and alkalis. Tensile strength is 330–680 MPa, yield strength is 230–600 MPa, and elongation up to 25–30%. Density is approximately 6.52 g/cm³, and melting point is about 1855°C. Zirconium is paramagnetic, thermal conductivity ~22.7 W/m·K, and chemically very stable at high temperature, so best for harsh, critical operating conditions, particularly for nuclear and chemical applications.
