Tantalum Round Bars generally have ≥99.9% pure tantalum along with traces of Oxygen (≤0.01%), Carbon (≤0.01%), Nitrogen (≤0.01%), Hydrogen (≤0.001%), and Niobium (≤0.1%). These bars possess remarkable mechanical properties with tensile strength of 200–750 MPa, yield strength of approximately 180 MPa, and elongation of up to 30%. Physically, tantalum has a very high melting point of 3017°C, a density of 16.65 g/cm³, and very good thermal and electrical conductivity. These characteristics, coupled with very good corrosion resistance—particularly to hydrochloric, sulfuric, and nitric acids—make tantalum round bars the best choice for extreme operating conditions in specialized industries.
