Aluminium Bronze Sheets and Plates generally consist of Copper (76–89%), Aluminium (8–12%), Iron (2–5%), and minor quantities of Nickel (1–5%), Manganese, and Silicon. These aspects are characterized by very good mechanical properties, such as tensile strength of 500–800 MPa and yield strength of 170–450 MPa, varying with the particular grade. The alloy has great wear resistance and fatigue strength. It has a density of around 7.5 g/cm³, thermal conductivity of about 50 W/m·K, and a melting point of 1025–1030°C. These features make Aluminium Bronze best suited for hostile environments calling for both strength and corrosion protection.
