Nitronic Sheets and Plates are commonly composed of blends of stainless steel alloys, primarily with 15-25% chromium, 8-10% nickel, and traces of manganese, silicon, and nitrogen. The presence of nitrogen (0.10–0.20%) improves strength, corrosion resistance, and formability. These alloys have high tensile strength (650–900 MPa), yield strength (275–500 MPa), and elongation of 40-50%. Nitronic, with a density of 7.8 g/cm³, has excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking and retains strength at high temperatures and is thus ideal for both high- and low-temperature applications.
