Copper Nickel Valves are generally fabricated utilizing alloys such as 90/10 (Cu-90%, Ni-10%) or 70/30 (Cu-70%, Ni-30%) with trace elements of iron (1.5%–2.5%) and manganese (0.5%–1.0%) added for higher strength and for corrosion resistance. These alloys have excellent mechanical characteristics with a tensile strength of 275–500 MPa and yield strength of 105–150 MPa. They possess good elongation (30%–45%) and impact toughness. Physical properties are a density of around 8.9 g/cm³ and melting point of between 1170°C and 1240°C, making them very suitable for use in high-temperature and high-pressure applications.
