Copper Nickel 70/30 Wire consists of about 70% Copper and 30% Nickel with minute additions of Iron (0.4–1.0%) and Manganese (0.5–1.0%) to enhance strength and resistance against corrosion. The tensile strength of the wire is between 380–550 MPa and the yield strength is approximately 150–250 MPa, with elongation of 30–40%. The density is approximately 8.9 g/cm³ and the melting point is between 1170°C and 1240°C. The alloy is highly resistant to seawater corrosion, erosion, and biofouling, and has good thermal conductivity and moderate electrical conductivity, making it suitable for harsh operating conditions.
