Copper Nickel Bolts and Nuts are generally manufactured in two general grades: 90/10 (90% Cu, 10% Ni) and 70/30 (70% Cu, 30% Ni). They also have traces of Iron (max 1.5%) and Manganese (max 1.0%) as added strengths and corrosion resistance. These bolts and nuts have tensile strength of 275–550 MPa and yield strength of 100–250 MPa, with elongation of up to 40%. Density is approximately 8.9 g/cm³, and its melting point varies from 1100°C to 1240°C. Possessing an excellent resistance towards seawater, erosion, as well as biofouling, they exhibit good thermal with moderate electrical conductance.

Copper Nickel Fasteners have extensive applications in marine and offshore environments because they exhibit excellent corrosion resistance against seawater and biofouling.
