Copper Nickel Tubing consists generally of 90% Copper and 10% Nickel (90/10 grade), with minute amounts of Iron (1.8%) and Manganese (1%) for higher mechanical strength and resistance to corrosion. The alloy provides tensile strength of 275–345 MPa, yield strength of about 105 MPa, and elongation of 30–40%. Physical characteristics are density of 8.9 g/cm³ and melting point of 1100–1145°C. Copper Nickel shows high thermal conductivity and low electrical conductivity (10–12% IACS) and thus is appropriate for applications that demand efficiency in heat transfer and resistance in corrosive, high-pressure environments.
