Super Duplex Steel Valves are essentially produced from an alloy of 25% chromium, 7% nickel, 4% molybdenum, together with 0.3% nitrogen, 1–2% manganese, and the remainder iron. Such a composition yields superior corrosion resistance, especially to chloride-induced stress corrosion and pitting. The mechanical properties are tensile strength of 800–1000 MPa, yield strength of about 550 MPa, and elongation of 25%. Physical properties are density of 7.8 g/cm³, melting point of 1350–1400°C, and thermal conductivity of about 15 W/m·K, which makes these valves suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
